ISLAMABAD: Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Shabbar Zaidi has revealed that an ordinance has been formed against Benami or undisclosed properties.
Sources added that the government has come up with an ordinance without making significant amendments in it but authorities may accelerate legal actions.
Chairman FBR also said that the technical team of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) is visiting Pakistan for two weeks and during their stay, they will hold dialogues with economic officials of the country.
The technical team will also be holding dialogues with the economic officials regarding the payment of remaining tranche, under the extended loan project, which is around $6 billion. Also, the technical team is expected to hold dialogues over the tax system of Pakistan.
Chairman FBR, in his current statement, also said that the board will provide required information regarding tax revenue. He further added that government officials are also conducting talks with the trader’s community whereas FBR is ensuring to simply business activities in Pakistan.
