ISLAMABAD: The joint opposition on Thursday submitted an application to the National Assembly Secretariat for including the election of a new prime minister in the agenda of the NA ongoing session.
It has been demanded in the application that the election of a new PM be included in the agenda by issuing a supplementary agenda.
The application was submitted by the PML-N leader Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, PPP leader Naveed Qamar and Shazia Marri on behalf of the opposition leader Shehbaz Sharif.
On the occasion of submitting the application, Sadiq asserted that the joint opposition wanted to include the election of a new Prime Minister in the NA agenda after the passing of a no-trust motion against PM Imran Khan.
It is worth mentioning here that, the joint opposition has tabled a no-trust move against PM Imran Khan and voting on the motion will be held in the next three days. After the separation of two allies MQM-P and BAP, from the government PM, Imran Khan has apparently lost the majority in the lower house of the parliament, while the opposition has gained a clear majority to pass the no-trust motion.
