Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi actor Omair Rana has responded to the notice issued by the Pakistan Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) to the makers of the drama over reviewing its content to the regulatory body’s code of conduct.
In a series of tweets, Omair Rana, while appreciating the Federal Investigation Agency’s (FIA) efforts to combat human trafficking in Pakistan wrote, “Our humble effort is to help them with their honourable cause by educating the masses of our everyday actions that feed the menace that is the modern slave trade.”
Rana, in his tweet, also invited PEMRA to do what is right, not popular. “Join us in this jihad and help us make our beloved Pakistan, pak (clean) of such vile elements in our society,” he added.

Earlier on Wednesday, PEMRA issued a letter to the private channel TV to direct the content of ‘Dil Na Umeed Toh Nahi’ in accordance with the code of conduct.
As the drama is based on sensitive social issues, PEMRA in this regard, said that the private TV channel has been directed to bring the quality of sensors in line with PEMRA rules.

The statement added that the PEMRA asked the management of the private TV channel to provide details related to the editorial board within five days. Based on human trafficking, prostitution, and child abuse, the drama includes Yumna Zaidi, Yasra Rizvi, Samia Mumtaz, Noman Ijaz, Wahaj Ali, and Umair Rana.
