The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has dropped a fresh inflation bomb on citizens who rely on LPG cylinders due to gas shortages, by increasing both the per-kilogram price of LPG and the cost of domestic cylinders.
According to details, OGRA has raised the price of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Rs. 7.39 per kilogram. As per the notification, the price of an 11.8 kg domestic cylinder has also been increased.
The notification states that the price of an 11.8 kg LPG cylinder has surged by Rs. 87.21, bringing the new price to Rs. 2,466.10, while the per-kilogram price of LPG has been fixed at Rs. 208.99.
OGRA has announced that the revised LPG prices will take effect immediately.
Earlier, OGRA had directed LPG companies across the country to stop supplying LPG to illegal shops and decanting points, and to conduct a complete audit of distributors’ inventories.
The authority also instructed that substandard and unsafe cylinders must be eliminated from the market.
