Netflix is set to launch its highly anticipated South Korean romantic comedy series Can This Love Be Translated? on January 16, 2026.
The 10-episode drama brings together romance, humor, and cross-cultural misunderstandings, centering on the evolving relationship between an interpreter and a global celebrity.
Written by the celebrated Hong Sisters, best known for hit series Hotel Del Luna and Alchemy of Souls, and directed by Yoo Young-eun (Bloody Heart), the series explores how love can transcend language when two people with contrasting emotional worlds are forced to work closely together.

The drama stars Kim Seon-ho as Joo Ho-jin, a gifted multilingual interpreter fluent in English, Japanese, and Italian, and Go Youn-jung as Cha Mu-hee, a world-famous actress admired for her confidence and vibrant personality.
The cast also includes Sota Fukushi as Hiro Kurosawa, a popular Japanese actor appearing alongside Mu-hee in a dating variety show; Choi Woo-sung as her loyal manager, Kim Yong-woo; and Lee Yi-dam as Shin Ji-seon, whose character adds emotional depth to the storyline.
Can This Love Be Translated? follows Joo Ho-jin as he is hired as Cha Mu-hee’s personal interpreter during the filming of an international television project.
As the pair travel across Japan, Italy, and Canada, their strictly professional relationship becomes increasingly complicated by emotional misunderstandings and differing “languages of love.”
Over time, what begins as confusion gradually turns into mutual understanding and affection.
