Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui, will play the lead role in US indie film ‘Laxman Lopez’.
Based on Christmas-themed, the movie is directed by Mexico’s Roberto Girault, who helmed local hits including 2017’s ‘La Leyenda Del Diamante’, and 2015’s ‘Los Arboles Mueren de Pie’.
The filming will take place entirely in the U.S at the end of the year. Further casting details will be announced closer to the start of production. The producer is Lalit Bhatnagar, writer and co-producer of horror project ‘Little Darling’.

As the news of Nawazuddin’s new Hollywood film was shared on Reddit, some of his fans reacted to the development. A fan commented, “He’s such a terrific actor who has diluted his craft in terrible films and half-baked OTT films in recent years. I hope this changes things for him.” The fan later added, “I just wish to also see him do some decent stuff like Manto or Sacred Games.”
Siddiqui’s ‘Manto’, ‘Raman Raghav’, ‘Gangs of Wasseypur’, ‘The Lunchbox’, and recent series including Netflix’s ‘Sacred Games’ and Amazon’s ‘McMafia’. He received his International Emmy nomination for the 2020 Indian comedy-drama series ‘Serious Men’.
On the work front, Nawazuddin was recently seen as the antagonist in Tiger Shroff-starrer ‘Heropanti 2’. He has several Bollywood films in the pipeline including Tiku Weds Sheru, Bole Chudiyan, Jogira Sara Ra Ra and more.
