Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has stated that the cracks previously visible in national unity have now turned into cohesion, and that our war is now against terrorists.
Speaking to the media in Sialkot, Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said, “We have defeated India on the eastern borders; now India is involved in incursions on our western borders.”
“By the grace of Allah, we will achieve even greater success on the western front than we did on the eastern front. India brought large aircraft, which our forces shot down like kites. In this war, the names of the martyrs and veterans have become immortal in the history of Pakistan,” he stated.
Khawaja Asif further said, “For the defense of the country and the nation, the government stands shoulder to shoulder with its armed forces, wherever it may be necessary to go. We have assured our brave army that the civilian government stands with them wholeheartedly.”
“The courage and leadership of the commanders played a vital role in the bravery with which the Pakistan Army fought. I extend my congratulations to the chiefs of all three forces and to the soldiers of the Pakistan Army,” he added.
