The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued an important advisory urging citizens to collect their Computerized National Identity Cards (CNICs) from NADRA offices within the stipulated time.
NADRA has asserted that failure to collect the CNIC within the prescribed deadline may lead to complications.
According to the authority, once an individual submits an application for a CNIC, it is mandatory to receive the card before the expiry of the given timeframe.
CNIC collection policy:
Under the latest policy, if a CNIC is not collected within three months of the assigned delivery date, it will be permanently cancelled. In such cases, applicants will be required to submit a fresh application and pay the applicable fee again.
NADRA has also encouraged applicants to use the Pak-Identity mobile application or opt for the home delivery service while applying for their CNIC.
Through this service, citizens can receive their identity cards directly at their registered address, eliminating the need to visit NADRA offices.
CNIC fee structure and processing time:
NADRA has outlined the processing fees and timelines for obtaining a new CNIC in Pakistan, offering three different service categories based on urgency:
Normal service: Free of cost, with a processing time of 15 days
Urgent Service: Fee of Rs1,150, with processing completed within 12 days
Executive Service: Fee of Rs2,150, with the CNIC issued within 6 days
Citizens are advised to choose the service category according to their requirements and ensure timely collection to avoid inconvenience.
