NAB decides to close inquiry against Saad Rafique

LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has decided to close an inquiry against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique regarding embezzlement in the sale of railway lands.

The DG NAB forwarded the recommendations to close the inquiry into leasing railway land against Khawaja Saad Rafique to the Chairman NAB for final approval.

According to NAB, Khawaja Saad Rafique was accused of leasing railway land to cheap people and the complainant had said that Khawaja Saad Rafique leased land on Lahore Walton Road and UET for 33 years. Saad Rafique gave this land through Redmco to benefit the preferred contractors, the bureau added.

According to NAB sources, the company which was leased the land by the Railways made the highest bid, and the allegation leveled against Khawaja Saad Rafique that he leased the land to favored persons is not substantiated.

According to sources, Khawaja Saad Rafique was accused of giving 12 plots to oil companies in different districts of Pakistan.
