During a National Assembly session, Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Raja Pervaiz Ashraf addressed recent allegations linked to a narcotics case involving a detained woman known as Pinky.
He stated that his name was mentioned in connection with the case, but noted that the woman’s lawyer had later issued a clarification in this regard.
Raja Pervaiz Ashraf maintained that his record was clear and expressed concern that no one should become a victim of what he described as a conspiracy.
He stressed that strict action should be taken against those spreading baseless accusations and defaming individuals without evidence.
The PPP leader said that the complete eradication of fake news from the country was essential, adding that no one’s reputation should be damaged until allegations are proven.
He further said that his party had taken immediate notice of the matter and reiterated that he had served in high offices, including Prime Minister and Speaker of the National Assembly, while maintaining an unblemished public life.
