MULTAN: The Metro bus service remained suspended on Tuesday after staffers went on strike over non-payment of salaries.
The strike was led by employees working for a private company contracted to operate the Metro bus services. The protesting staff members complained that they have not received their salaries for the past two months.
The staffers took drastic measures and the metro bus services came to a halt. The staffers shut down several Metro bus stations and refused to issue tickets.
The metro bus drivers further said that the private company terminated the employment of 22 drivers without any prior notice.
The striking employees expressing their frustrations and said they have been deprived of their salaries for the last two months
Daily commuters faced immense convenience after the services were suspended and struggled to find alternative arrangements.
