The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has released a detailed travel advisory for passengers in view of dense fog affecting various areas of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Sindh.
According to the NHMP spokesperson, extremely low visibility caused by fog significantly increases the risk of accidents on national highways and motorways.
In cases of severe fog, relevant motorway sections may be temporarily closed to ensure passenger safety.
Travelers have been advised to complete their journeys between 10 a.m. and 8 p.m. and to avoid unnecessary travel at night.
During travel, drivers must use fog lights, ensure wipers are functioning properly, maintain a greater-than-usual distance from the vehicle ahead, and avoid using high beams, as they further reduce visibility.
The spokesperson added that before starting their journey, travelers should check the latest updates by using Helpline 130, FM 95 Radio, and social media @nhmp.
The Motorway Police stressed that protecting the lives and property of the public is their top priority, and NHMP teams remain alert 24 hours a day with all possible measures in place.
