A citizen registering for the petrol relief scheme was left stunned after authorities discovered 46 outstanding e-challans linked to his motorcycle, leading to its immediate seizure.
According to media reports, the individual had arrived at a registration centre to avail the Rs100 petrol relief when a routine record check revealed multiple traffic violations associated with his vehicle.
Officials took swift action, impounding the motorcycle and transferring it to a police station, while the citizen was sent home without his vehicle.
Sources said the action was taken due to long-standing non-payment of fines.
Authorities added that strict enforcement is being carried out under a zero-tolerance policy against traffic violations.
