KUWAIT: The General Traffic Department, operating under the Ministry of Interior, has announced a daily restriction on delivery motorcycles across the country during specific hours of the day.
The ban will remain in effect from June 1, 2026, to August 31, 2026, during which delivery riders will not be permitted to operate on public roads during the designated time period.
Under the new directive, delivery motorcycles will be prohibited from operating between 11:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. each day.
The measure has been introduced in response to extreme summer temperatures, aiming to protect workers from direct sun exposure and hazardous weather conditions during the hottest hours of the day.
Officials stated that the decision is not solely a traffic management measure but forms part of a broader national policy designed to safeguard outdoor workers during the peak summer months. As part of this policy, working hours in various sectors are also being adjusted to minimize the impact of extreme heat.
Warning Against Violations
The Traffic Department has warned that legal action will be taken against violators, including the issuance of fines and penalties. Authorities emphasized that compliance with the directive is mandatory to ensure public
