NAWABSHAH: A mother of four children lost her life after being hit by a passenger train while rescuing minor daughters in the Nawabshah area of Sindh on Sunday.
According to sources, the woman identified as Ganga Bagri was hit by a speeding passenger train while her two minor daughters. As a result, they suffered severe injuries and the mother of the girls died on the spot.
Sources said the accident took place at Murad Ali Jamali Gate near Bandhi Railway Station. According to police, the body of the woman and the injured were shifted to the hospital for autopsy and treatment, respectively.
Earlier, five people, including two children and two women, were killed after a speeding train hit a rickshaw near the Rohri area of Sukkur.
According to police, a fast-moving train hit a rickshaw near Pyarwah, when the rickshaw was crossing the railway track in the area. As a result, five people, including two children and two women were killed on the spot.
The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for medico-legal formalities. In a separate accident, a train driver had wounded after Jacobabad to Karachi Sukkur Express hit a stationary goods train near Tando Adam.
