A mob in Karachi’s Baldia Qaimkhawani Chowk lynched a dacoit attempting a robbery on Monday, highlighting the growing concern over street crimes in the city.
According to police sources, they received a call on Helpline 15 reporting that two of the four dacoits were looting people in the area. Interestingly, the robbers were not carrying any weapons at the time.
Despite the lack of weapons, local citizens managed to overpower one of the dacoits while the other three accomplices fled the scene. In a swift act of anger, the mob beat the captured dacoit to death. Police have started investigating the criminal record of the deceased, though further details are yet to be confirmed.
Karachi, known for its high rates of street crime, has seen a rise in such incidents, with citizens increasingly taking matters into their own hands in the face of what they perceive as ineffective law enforcement. Police have launched an investigation into the incident, but it remains part of the larger issue of street crime that continues to plague the city.
