Millions of people across Iran, including in the capital Tehran, held rallies to mark the 40th day (Chehlum) of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, along with senior military commanders and children from Minab school.
According to Iranian media, the main rally, which began on Thursday morning, proceeded from Republic Square to the site where Khamenei was killed.
Reports added that similar rallies and gatherings were held in multiple cities and districts across the country.
Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian also participated in the Chehlum procession of Khamenei. During the event, he mingled with the public, and citizens took selfies with him.
It is worth noting that Khamenei was killed on 28 February, on the first day of attacks on Iran by the United States and Israel, along with several members of his family.
Several senior Iranian military commanders and advisers were also killed, including Major General Abdul Rahim Mousavi, Rear Admiral Ali Shamkhani, and Major General Mohammad Pakpour.
