Federal Finance Minister Miftah Ismail has turned down rumours of using the official residence to stay and clarified that he is not using his official residence nor does he have any intention to move there.
The minister was responding to news reports on spending Rs4.8 million on the renovation and refurbishment of his official residence before moving there. According to the finance minister, he lives in a home in Islamabad’s F7.

The finance minister admitted that he was allotted a residence at Ministers Enclave but has no intention of moving there. “I have been assigned a home in ministers’ enclave but have never visited that home and have no intention of moving there,” said Miftah.
Miftah added that not a single ‘penny has been spent on that house’. The finance minister stated that he has not taken a car from the government and neither does he take any petrol or salary from the national exchequer.
