MDCAT 2026 rescheduled: PMDC announces new exam date

The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), on the instructions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has rescheduled the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026. The examination will now be held on September 20, 2026.

According to a statement issued by the PMDC, the decision to change the MDCAT date was made to ensure the examination is conducted in a more organized, secure, transparent, and candidate-friendly manner.

The test, which was previously scheduled for August 16, will now take place on September 20, 2026.

The statement clarified that, apart from the change in the examination date, all other terms, regulations, and examination arrangements will remain unchanged.

However, if any further modifications become necessary, they will be announced separately through an official notification.

The PMDC has advised all candidates, parents, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to stay updated through the council’s official website and official communication channels for the latest information, instructions, and announcements.

The council also expressed regret for any inconvenience caused by the change in the examination date and appreciated the cooperation of all stakeholders.

Over 33,000 candidates to compete for 5,100 medical seats in Sindh MDCAT

More than 33,000 candidates across Sindh will compete for 5,100 medical and dental college seats as the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) is scheduled to be held on August 16, with examination centres established in Karachi and other major cities of the province.
