ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam chief Fazal-ur-Rehman has withdrawn his call for strike after the release of party workers.
JUI chief said that the administration has released their MNAs and arrested workers so they do not need to protest and urged workers to remain calm.
Opposition parties and JUI-F activists blocked the entire country in a timely manner, he said by adding that because of this, the administration had to give up and the police released their MNAs and workers on personal bail bond at 4 am today.
Appreciating the support of the people and Jamiat workers across the country, he appealed to them to end today’s strike and remain calm and pray to Allah in Friday prayers to save the nation from this government.
It may be recalled that at the request of the JUI-F chief, JUI-F workers took to the streets in different cities of the country including Karachi, and blocked important roads in protest which resulted in a traffic jam.

Workers of the JUI-F protested near Super Highway Al-Asif Square in Karachi, due to which the traffic was blocked which was later diverted by the police. The JUI workers blocked traffic by holding a sit-in on Skarand Road in Nawabshah. Workers also held a sit-in at DC Chowk in Jacobabad.
At the request of Maulana Fazlur Rehman, JUI workers in Sukkur city of Sindh staged a sit-in on National Highway Pano Aqil.
