A fire at a restaurant on Do Darya, located in Phase 8 of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in Karachi, has caused significant damage. Officials have stated that the restaurant’s entire infrastructure has been destroyed.
According to details, the fire broke out at the restaurant on Wednesday night and was brought under control after prolonged and tireless efforts. The rescue agency reported that cooling operations are ongoing after the fire was extinguished.
As reported by Dawn News, citing Rescue 1122 official Hassan Khan, no one was present at the restaurant when the fire started. Initially, two fire tenders were dispatched, but as the situation worsened, two more fire tenders were called in.
Due to the restaurant’s wooden infrastructure, the fire spread rapidly. Hassan Khan stated that four fire tenders worked continuously for an hour and a half to control the blaze, but the restaurant’s infrastructure was completely destroyed. Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
Meanwhile, DIG (South) Syed Asad Raza stated that the fire broke out in an abandoned restaurant at Do Darya. Upon receiving the report, police immediately cordoned off the area. The restaurant had been closed for the past four to five years.
