Lahore: The new Chief Minister of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz, has issued a one-month ultimatum to the administration for the removal of goods placed outside shops in the provincial capital.
Taking cognizance of citizens’ complaints about the challenges posed by goods obstructing sidewalks and streets, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed immediate action to address the issue.
Citizens reported to Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz that shopkeepers were encroaching on public spaces by placing goods outside their shops, causing significant traffic issues and contributing to frequent accidents.
In response to these concerns, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz instructed the administration to alleviate traffic congestion and clear obstacles in roads and markets. Shopkeepers were specifically directed to confine their goods within the premises of their shops.
Additionally, Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz emphasized the importance of designated areas for carts and stalls to prevent inconvenience to citizens, shopkeepers, and porters.
The Chief Minister has directed relevant authorities to address citizens’ complaints within one month, ensuring the smooth flow of traffic and convenience for all residents.
