Man shot for testifying against land mafia in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: The occupation mafia has been involved in shooting a witness who testified against the gang in the federal capital.
The incident took place near Bani Gala police station where a man named Firdous, associated with the land mafia opened fire on a witness named Adnan and his two-year-old son.
Giving a statement in hospital, the victim Adnan stated said he was on his way home on a motorbike with his teacher Arif and his minor son when the accused Firdous came on another motorbike started abusing and beating them.
Adnan said he tried to escape from that place but the accused chased his motorcycle and begin firing at him. He alleged that Firdous tried to kill him at the behest of a man named Rashid.
According to Adnan, Firdous shot him because his brother had made a statement against Rashid in an FIR lodged against the accused. He said Rashid and Firdous are partners and are involved in illicit activities. The SHO of the area has not yet taken action on the case filed.
A case has not been registered over the firing incident while the police are unwilling to take action. Top police officials have been ignoring the growing number of shooting incidents and land occupation in the area. No response was received when the SHO was contacted to get this stance on the incident.
