Man kills wife, four children over domestic dispute

PATTOKI: A man killed his wife and four children over a domestic dispute after throwing them into a canal in the Jambar area of Pattoki on Saturday.

According to the police sources, the incident took place in Pattoki due to a domestic issue. The police officials have arrested the accused and started investigations.

Soon after the incident, the rescue teams reached the spot and divers fished out the bodies of two children Nafeesa (5) and Mohammad (2). While the search for other children was underway.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar expressed a deep sense of sorrow and grief over the incident. The CM also directed Commissioner Lahore to determine the causes of this tragic incident and submit a report.

Earlier, a girl, named Shazia Bibi, was allegedly killed by her father and relative for having a freewill marriage, according to the police.

The father and the relative dumped the body of the girl in a ditch near River Chenab, police had informed. The girl’s father, Muhammad Ali, and his relative killed Shazia Bibi in their own house and spread misinformation that his daughter had gone missing from home.

The victim conducted a marriage of her choice two months ago following which her father Abdul Raheem developed a grudge against her. Police had registered a case against the accused father and the relative for their roles in the murder.     

During the interrogation, the girl’s father Muhammad Ali and the relative admitted their guilt and said that Shazia had got married to her own choice so they killed her.

After the investigation, Chenab Nagar police recovered the body and shifted it to the hospital for postmortem.
