Informing Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif about the crisis of rice export, Rice Exporters Association of Pakistan (REAP) leader Mahmood Moulvi has warned that rice exports could face huge losses if the unfair policies of the Port Qasim Authority continue.
Earlier, REAP in a letter to the Prime Minister said that Port Qasim Authority had placed ships of imported edible oil at the berths dedicated for rice exports due to which rice exports ships are facing unnecessary delays and huge financial losses, which is significantly increasing the cost of exports.
In his statement, Mahmood Moulvi warned that if these issues were not addressed immediately, Pakistan’s rice exports would be affected, which would harm the country’s economy.
He urged the Prime Minister to pay immediate attention to the issue faced by REAP and find solutions to the problems so that exporters and the rice exports sector could be saved from further losses.
