Renowned Pakistani actress Mahira Khan has announced that she is taking a temporary break from films.

The actress shared this during the trailer launch event of her upcoming movie, where she spoke about her future plans in the entertainment industry.

Mahira Khan said she has decided not to sign films for now. She explained that she is currently working on a television serial and cannot manage two major projects simultaneously unless an exceptional project comes her way.

She hinted that moving forward she will be far more selective and thoughtful while choosing her roles, suggesting fans may see her only in carefully chosen projects in the near future.

The superstar further added that she wants to give her complete attention and energy to the current drama project, as television requires long shooting schedules and emotional continuity. According to her, dividing focus between a film and a serial often affects the quality of performance.

Mahira also emphasized that the break should not be considered a permanent departure from cinema. She clarified that she still loves films and will return once she finds a script that truly excites her creatively.

Industry observers believe the decision reflects a broader shift among Pakistani actors who are prioritizing strong storytelling over frequent appearances, especially as high-quality television content continues to attract massive audiences across the country and overseas.
