LONDON: London-based human rights lawyer Toby Cadman has claimed that there were flaws in the verdict over former president Pervez Musharraf’s death penalty in the high treason case.
Barrister Toby Cadman, also a former representative of Pervez Musharraf at the United Nations pointed out the charges against the former president were politically motivated and called for a full review of the case.
According to Cadman, the authorities in Pakistan needs to apply the law equally to all.
Earlier on Tuesday, Pervez Musharraf was sentenced death penalty by the Special Court in its verdict announced in the high treason case.
General retired Pervez Musharraf was booked in a treason case in December 2013. He was indicted on 31st March 2014 in the case of suspending the Constitution by proclamation of emergency on 3rd November 2007.
