Land mafia allegedly occupies land worth millions in Rawalpindi
RAWALPINDI: Land mafia of Rawalpindi has allegedly occupied land worth 220 million, and are threatening the owners by firing at their house.
According to details, the incident took place in Shakrial area of Rawalpindi within the jurisdiction of Sadiqabad police station. The land mafia is firing intermittently in a bid to spread panic among the residents of the area and the owner of the land.
The victim has informed that he had sold the said land for about 220 million to the land mafia. A three-month agreement was also signed in this regard, however, the people had only paid Rs 5 million to date.
Later, the owners canceled the agreement and issued a legal notice to the land mafia. The court granted another four months for the remaining payment, but the people refused to pay.
The owners once again send a legal notice, on which the land mafia forcibly occupied the land and started aerial firing in the area. The victims further informed that they had filed several applications against the accused persons however no action hasn’t been taken yet.
The victim also said that MNA Khurram Nawaz and Chairman Raja Zahid are allegedly patronizing the land mafia. “In this regard, the police are not taking any action against the accused persons,” he informed.
He has appeal to Chief Justice of Pakistan, Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and Chief Minister of Punjab Sardar Usman Bazdar to take action against the accused and launch a transparent inquiry into this matter.
