Lahore police have arrested the son of a serving DSP Azhar Naveed in connection with kidnapping, multi-million-rupee fraud, and criminal intimidation cases, officials said on Wednesday.
CCTV footage of the arrest has also surfaced, showing police officials taking Muhammad Nail Azhar Khan into custody.
Nail Khan faces multiple serious cases registered at various police stations, including charges of kidnapping, multi-million-rupee financial fraud, and issuing threats of severe consequences to citizens. Both he and his father have reportedly been embroiled in legal disputes for some time.
According to police records, a case was registered against him at Faisal Town police station for allegedly kidnapping a citizen named Haris. Another FIR was lodged at Sarwar Road police station over allegations of harassment and issuing threats.
He also has a prior criminal record, including a 2025 case at Defence A police station related to breach of trust.
The father-son duo came under serious scrutiny after allegations of a major financial fraud worth Rs340 million surfaced.
In a complaint filed by a citizen named Hussam Khan, it was alleged that DSP Azhar Naveed and his son deceived him in a luxury vehicle transaction, receiving over Rs333 million but failing to deliver the vehicles or return the money.
Following the complaint, police had already arrested the DSP and initiated investigations, while his son had reportedly been seeking interim bail from the court to avoid arrest. He was later apprehended from the Cantonment area during a police operation.
