PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Transport Department has substantially surpassed its revenue collection targets for the financial year 2025-26, accumulating Rs 1.18 billion against an assigned target of Rs 699.9 million, marking an impressive 56 percent surplus.
Data available with MM News shows the department’s exceptional performance represents Rs 485 million in additional revenue beyond its allocated quota, underscoring improved administrative efficiency and enhanced compliance in the province’s transport sector.
The Transport Department’s revenue generation occurred across two primary operational segments:
Driving Licenses: The department collected Rs 950 million against a target of Rs 550 million, exceeding projections by Rs 400 million or 73 percent.
Fitness Certification: The fitness certification segment yielded Rs 235 million compared to the target of Rs 149.9 million, surpassing the goal by Rs 85.1 million or 57 percent.
Officials attributed the robust performance to streamlined licensing procedures, increased vehicle registration compliance, and improved awareness among the public regarding fitness certification requirements.
The surplus revenue is expected to bolster the provincial government’s development initiatives and infrastructure projects in the transport sector.
