The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced new official prices for wheat and flour across the province.
According to the Food Department, flour mills will continue to receive 2,000 metric tons of wheat daily. Authorities have directed all flour mills to implement the revised prices with immediate effect and strictly comply with the 2026 Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Under the revised rates, the ex-mill price of a 20kg flour bag has been fixed at Rs2,500, while the retail price has been set at Rs2,520. The official wheat release price has been fixed at Rs11,200 per 100kg, with wheat to be supplied at the new rate immediately.
The Food Department has issued a notification to district food controllers and other relevant officials regarding the revised prices.
The Food Directorate has also released the 2026 wheat quota allocation notification and instructed all flour mills to ensure strict compliance with the SOPs for 2026.
Meanwhile in the market, according to the Flour Dealers Association, the price of a 20kg flour bag in Peshawar has risen by Rs100 to Rs150 over the past two days. A 20kg bag of mixed flour now sells for Rs2,800, up from Rs2,650, while the price of a 20kg bag of fine flour has increased from Rs2,900 to Rs3,000.
The association attributed the increase to rising wheat prices, saying flour prices continue to climb as the cost of wheat escalates.
