The Directorate of Higher Education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has issued strict standard operating procedures (SOPs) for welcoming and farewell ceremonies, sports galas, and other cultural programmes in women’s colleges, with directives for strict compliance in the future.
According to the issued circular, prior approval from the college administration is mandatory before holding any event.
Permission must be obtained from the Director or Regional Director of Higher Education. Additionally, a complete list of participants and guests must be submitted to the relevant authorities.
The circular clearly states that any performances involving music, dance, modelling, or similar activities are strictly prohibited in women’s colleges. Students are required to wear their college uniforms during all events.
The Directorate has also imposed strict restrictions on mobile phone usage during college hours and events. Recording or sharing videos and photographs of any event on social media is strictly forbidden.
The circular emphasises that stringent security and monitoring arrangements must be made to ensure the safety and modesty of students, and all events must align with social and cultural values.
A stern warning was issued that any college or principal failing to implement these SOPs will face strict legal action.
