The preparations for strict accountability in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) have been completed on the directives of Imran Khan.
According to sources cited by private TV channel Geo News, Advisor on Accountability Musaddiq Abbasi has drafted the Anti-Corruption Force Act on Imran Khan’s instructions. The Anti-Corruption Force will consist of three wings and will be headed by the Director General of Anti-Corruption, with more than ten individuals being recruited.
The recruited personnel will undergo four months of training, while the Director General of Prosecution will be hired on a contract basis. The Anti-Corruption Department will have the authority to investigate benami (undeclared) properties and take action against those who deceive the public.
As per Imran Khan’s alleged directives, new recruitments will be made in the Anti-Corruption Force, and deputation staff will be sent back. Sources state that under the Act, an investigator must complete an inquiry within six months. If not completed within six months, an extension of one year will be granted, and if it remains incomplete after a year, the inquiry will be closed.
The institution will be assigned the task of hiring its own prosecutors to fight cases in courts. Citizens providing information and officers conducting good investigations will be rewarded, while officials involved in false cases could face imprisonment of three to seven years. The KP Advisor on Accountability has confirmed this.
Advisor on Accountability Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Musaddiq Abbasi, stated that Chief Minister Ali Amin has approved the proposed law, and it will soon be approved by the cabinet. He emphasized that, in line with Imran Khan’s vision, corruption will not be tolerated, and strict action will be taken against corrupt individuals under the new law.
