Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has written a letter to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, expressing grave concern over alleged ethnic discrimination and unjust arrests of Pashtuns in Islamabad.
The CM emphasized that such actions are against the principles of justice and could have long-term negative impacts by fostering hatred.
He reminded that many Pashtuns in Islamabad are internally displaced persons (IDPs) living under difficult circumstances.
The letter highlighted the economic hardships faced by Pashtuns, many of whom work on meager wages in the capital.
Gandapur referenced a similar discriminatory incident in Punjab during 2018 under the guise of registration, urging the government to avoid repeating such measures.
The CM called for an end to actions that exacerbate challenges for the Pashtun community.
The letter appeals for a more equitable and compassionate approach to avoid further marginalization of Pashtuns.
