PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Wednesday inaugurated Jalozai Economic Zone under China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in Peshawar.
Addressing the ceremony, the chief minister said the government has put the province on the track of development. He said the government is making efforts to bring foreign investment in hydel industry, mines and minerals and tourism sectors.
Mahmood Khan said the government had been facing challenges of economy, COVID-19 and locusts attack. He expressed determination of his government to pace up work on development in the province while staying with the global pandemic.
Last month, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) has approved four locations for economic zones in the province.
The selected locations include Ghazi Economic Zone (89.9 acres), Chitral Economic Zone (40 acres), Jalozai Economic Zone (257.5 acres) and Nowshera Economic Zone Extension (76.25 acres).
“The zones will have a well-developed infrastructure in order to facilitate investors and will generate billions of rupees of investments and provide job opportunities to over 25,000 people,” sa KPEZDMC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Javed Khattak.
