KARACHI: Another NADRA Mega Center has officially been inaugurated in Surjani Town on Monday, marking a significant step in the government’s commitment to decentralizing essential citizen services across Karachi.

Sindh Governor Nehal Hashmi presided over the opening ceremony of the state-of-the-art facility, which promises to substantially reduce processing times and improve accessibility for residents in the densely populated area.

The newly constructed center boasts comprehensive amenities designed to accommodate high daily footfall and ensure public comfort. The facility features 20 one-window counters, enabling simultaneous service delivery to multiple citizens and significantly reducing queue times.

A spacious waiting area with seating capacity for 200 people at once provides comfortable accommodation during peak hours.

In recognition of demographic needs, the center includes dedicated counters for senior citizens and persons with disabilities, where priority-based services are offered without requiring individuals to wait in standard queues.

This targeted approach ensures vulnerable populations receive expedited attention and dignified service.

Beyond standard identification and travel document issuance, the NADRA Mega center will offer thalassemia screening services, with medical counseling provided to individuals testing positive for the genetic blood disorder. This integrated health component reflects an expanded scope of public health initiatives embedded within civic infrastructure.

Speaking at the inauguration, Governor Hashmi emphasized that Pakistan’s institutional framework is advancing to serve citizens through geographically distributed, modernized facilities. He highlighted that the center’s strategic location within a densely populated area directly addresses government promises to deliver contemporary services at the community level, minimizing travel burdens for residents.
