The mystery surrounding the murder of three women in Karachi’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal area has been resolved, as the head of the household, Iqbal, and his son Yaseen have confessed to the crime.
According to police, the bodies of three women were discovered in a flat in Block 1 of Gulshan-e-Iqbal. Following their confession, both father and son have been formally arrested.
Police officials stated that the accused cited financial difficulties as the motive behind the murders, but investigations are continuing to examine all aspects of the case.
Iqbal explained that the pressures from creditors and severe economic hardship led him to take this extreme step.
Yaseen added that they were burdened with loans exceeding PKR 16.5 million, and their vehicles were on bank lease. The women were reportedly poisoned by mixing toxins into their juice.
A few days earlier, the same flat in Gulshan-e-Iqbal was found to contain the bodies of the three women — a mother, daughter, and daughter-in-law — along with a man in a semi-conscious state.
The police had taken the household head, Muhammad Iqbal, and his son Yaseen, who was under treatment in a hospital, into custody for questioning.
