The hot weather in Karachi is expected to persist for more few days, with temperatures likely to reach up to 40°C on Saturday, according to the Meteorological Department’s Early Warning Center.
According to the Met Office, during this time, sea breezes may briefly become inactive, intensifying the heat in the city. Today, northwestern winds from Balochistan are expected to dominate the city’s weather.
On Sunday and Monday, the wind direction will shift to the northeast, also from Balochistan.
In other parts of Sindh, such as Umerkot and Tharparkar, thunderstorms and rain with gusty winds are expected on Monday and Tuesday.
However, the rest of the province is likely to experience hot and dry weather conditions.
The public is advised to take precautions during the heatwave, as the lack of sea breezes may increase discomfort, especially for those who have to spend extended periods outdoors.
It should be noted that October is unprecedentedly hot in Karachi this year.
