KARACHI: Karachi on Tuesday night received a spell of light to moderate rain, turning the weather cold.
Rainfall was widespread across various parts of Karachi, impacting neighborhoods like Nazimabad, North Nazimabad, FB Area, North Karachi, Manghopir, Site Area, Korangi, Landhi, DHA and other areas.
The precipitation also reached locations such as Saddar, Khara Dar, Orangi Town, Qasba Colony, Banaras, M.A. Jinnah Road, Surjani Town, Maripur, Neelam Colony, and Baldia Town.
In addition, areas including Hasan Square, Ghareebabad, Liaquatabad, Karimabad, Gulistan-e-Jauhar, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal also witnessed substantial rainfall.
It’s noteworthy that the meteorological department had earlier forecasted heavy to moderate rain in Karachi for February.
A day earlier parts of the port city had received light rain.
Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed across Sindh during the last 24 hours. Fog disturbed normal vehicular movement in upper districts.
Mohenjo-Daro and Mithi remained the coldest places in Sindh where the mercury dropped to 06 C.
In Mohenjo-Daro, relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 100 percent. In Mithi, relative humidity in the morning was recorded at 72 percent. In Karachi, minimum temperature was recorded at 14 C. In Hyderabad, minimum temperature was recorded at 11 C.
