The rainfall, recorded in central zones including Saddar, Clifton, MA Jinnah Road, and Gulshan-e-Iqbal, later extended to northern neighborhoods like North Karachi and Surjani Town. No major disruptions were reported, though intermittent showers are expected to continue in parts of the metropolis.
However, several areas reported power disruptions immediately after the first drops of rain fell, highlighting ongoing infrastructure vulnerabilities during wet weather.
The precipitation follows a weather alert issued by the Sindh Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) ahead of the anticipated wet spell. The Pakistan Meteorological Department had earlier forecast rain and thunderstorms for Karachi and several southern districts—including Thatta, Hyderabad, and Jacobabad—on March 25, 26, 28, and 29.
