Karachi: Mayor Karachi Murtaza Wahab has revealed that 101 individuals drawing dual salaries from the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) have been identified through a newly digitized system.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, the mayor stated that the complete records of the KMC have now been digitized, making it impossible for those exploiting the system to continue their practices.
He further announced that records of retired employees and the institution’s budget are also being integrated into the digital system.
Wahab noted that KMC has become the first municipal body in Pakistan to implement such a comprehensive digitization initiative.
He criticized previous administrations, saying that those who previously held the mayor’s office preferred keeping the records manual to allow manipulation.
