Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab Siddiqi has announced the rollout of free Wi-Fi services at major parks across the city, enabling visitors to access the internet while enjoying these recreational spaces.
Speaking at the inauguration of the free Wi-Fi service at Frere Hall on Friday, the mayor shared plans to extend the initiative to other prominent public locations under the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation’s jurisdiction.
These include popular destinations such as Bagh Ibne Qasim, Kidney Hill Park, Lake Park, and Safari Park.
“We are dedicated to enhancing the facilities at these recreational venues for the convenience of citizens,” said Mayor Wahab.
He emphasized that Karachi is now aligning with other cities globally by offering such digital services. “With the widespread use of smartphones, providing Wi-Fi at public spaces has become a necessity,” he added.
The mayor also underscored the importance of modernizing public amenities to ensure they benefit all citizens, not just the privileged few.
