KARACHI: Karachi Kings thrashed the Lahore Qalandars on Thursday by ten wickets, grabbing an easy victory with 17 balls to spare in the 26th match of Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 5.
Karachi Kings’ bowlers restricted Qalandars to easy total of 150 runs at National Stadium at the loss of five wickets. Captain Sohail Akhtar scored 68 runs from 49 balls, while Hafeez scored 35 and Fakhar Zaman scored 17 runs.
None of the other Qalandars players failed to impress with the bat. Umaid Asif and Arshad Iqbal grabbed two wickets each while Chris Jordan picked one. Ben Dunk who secured two earlier victories was dismissed for nine runs.
Star batsman Babar Azam and left-handed Sharjeel Khan made a record of longest opening partnership to cruise to an easy victory for the Kings.
Sharjeel Khan scored 74 runs from 59 balls including 5 sixes and an equal number of fours. Babar Azam scored 69 runs from 46 balls.
