KARACHI: The K-Electric has sought Rs2.70 hike in the power tariff on account of monthly Fuel Charges Adjustment (FCA) in an application to the NEPRA.
The NEPRA has also received a second request for a Rs7.36 power rate reduction for Karachi’s electricity users due to a quarterly adjustment.
K-Electric has asked for an increase in the electricity rate to cover the monthly adjustment for fuel costs for January. For the period of October to December 2022, the electricity tariff has been requested to be reduced by Rs7.36 by the power utility.

The NEPRA will conduct hearing on two KE applications on February 28.
Earlier, in February Karachi’s power utility had approached the NEPRA with a request to lower electricity prices for consumers in Karachi.
