Karachi: K-Electric has announced a scheduled maintenance shutdown across a wide range of electricity feeders in Karachi on Friday, 31 July 2026, with power interruptions expected to last between seven and 11 hours in different parts of the city.
The planned outages are part of the utility’s routine maintenance programme aimed at improving network reliability and ensuring the smooth operation of the power distribution system.
According to the maintenance schedule, electricity supply will remain suspended on more than 40 feeders at varying times throughout the day, with most shutdowns beginning between 7:59am and 9:59am and ending between 4:59pm and 7:59pm. Most affected areas are expected to experience outages lasting around nine hours, although the duration will differ depending on the feeder concerned.
Among the areas included in the maintenance programme are Ahmed Investment, Alamgir Trust RMU, Ana International RMU, Chambaili RMU, Check Post 5, Civic View, Crown Garden, Crown Plaza, Defence Pumping-1, DHA Phase-8, Falak Naz Plaza, Fish Mill Substation (Paramount), Gulshan Gulshan, Haseeb Polani, IBA-2, Jamia Karachi, Jamia Masjid Sector E, Jehangir Rehman, Khan Younus, Kh-e-Ghalib Kiosk-12 and Kh-e-Ghazi Pumping.
On the other side of the city, power interruptions have also been scheduled for Lubna Farm, Mehran Tower, Muslim Gym Khana, PAF Malir Cantt (PAF Base), Paradise + Cap, Pink Park RMU, PNS Haider, Punjab Town, Quetta Town RMU, Rufi Paradise, Sareena, Sector 4 Malir Cantt, Sehar Palace, Shah Khalid Colony (Old Roshan Bagh), Shaharyar Clinic, Shanzil Golf Residency, Sun Rise Avenue Phase-7 Extension, Surjani Telephone Exchange, Tahir Villa, Usmania Colony and Ziauddin Hospital.
The schedule indicates that some feeders, including Muslim Gym Khana, will be taken offline as early as 7:59am, while others such as Mehran Tower and Kh-e-Ghalib Kiosk-12 will begin maintenance at 9:59am. The earliest restoration is expected around 4:59pm, whereas several feeders will remain without electricity until 7:59pm.
K-Electric has advised consumers in the affected localities to make necessary arrangements in advance, as the maintenance work may temporarily disrupt domestic and commercial activities.
