Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI) leader Hafiz Hussain Ahmed has passed away. His son, Munir Ahmed, confirmed his father’s death, as reported by national media.
According to reports, Munir Ahmed told the media that Hafiz Hussain Ahmed had been suffering from kidney disease for a long time. He stated that details regarding his funeral prayers and burial would be announced later.
Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam also confirmed Hafiz Hussain Ahmed’s passing through its official Facebook account. Hafiz Hussain Ahmed had previously served as a senator and a member of the National Assembly.
Meanwhile, JUI chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman expressed his grief over the passing of the senior politician. He stated that with Hafiz Hussain Ahmed’s demise, a chapter of cherished memories has come to an end. He described him as an intelligent, quick-witted, and ideological parliamentary leader.
It is worth noting that after Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Hafiz Hussain Ahmed was regarded as one of the senior-most leaders within JUI. His passing is considered a significant loss for the party.
JUI leaders, along with politicians from across the country, are offering condolences to Hafiz Hussain Ahmed’s family and the party’s senior leadership.
