Karachi police have found evidence of MPA Sindh Assembly Jam Owais’s presence at the time of murder of Nazim Jokhio as the location of victim and the accused has been matched, however, the alleged accused has not been arrested by the police yet.
According to police sources, deleted data of CCTV cameras was recovered from the farmhouse of accused and digital record was made a part of the case while statements of witnesses have also been taken. Mobile data of the victim has also been obtained.
According to sources, during the interrogation, the accused said that Nazim Jokhio along with his brother Afzal reached Jam House at around 12 o’clock where Jam Karim allegedly slapped the slain Nazim Jokhio and the gunmen gave minor torture.
Allegedly, the accused Jam Karim, while ordering the arrest of Nazim Jokhio, said that the verdict would be taken in the morning. At 3 o’clock in the night, Nazim Jokhio’s brother Afzal was sent home. As his brother was sent away, Jam Karim allegedly went to sleep.

When Jam Owais woke up at about 3 o’clock in the night, he found out that Nazim Jokhio was imprisoned. He was brutally tortured after Jam Owais woke up. The time of Nazim Jokhio’s murder in the postmortem is also 5 o’clock in the morning.
An investigation is underway into whether Jam Owais, a member of the Assembly, was involved in the torture of the slain Nazim Jokhio or at his behest. Police sources said that the statements of the arrested accused have been taken and more important revelations are likely to come to light soon.
