Singer Asim Azhar has called the condition of the upcoming general election a state of ‘people vs the system’.
The Jo Tu Na Mila singer, who has always expressed his support for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan, took to X and wrote: “It’s people vs the system now. They can ban everything but not what our heart says. Please find out your constituency & vote!”

According to him, people are already aware of whom they should cast a vote now. “We need to show them the power of people against a corrupted system,” he posted.
Later in a tweet, she ranted about the people who support the oppressed ones. “The amount of open biased-ness and ridiculous unfair bans that have been happening to keep the public away. Just makes me want to support the oppressed even more. And I’m sure I’m not the only one,” he frustratedly asked.

His tweets are a hint at upcoming elections in Pakistan which will be held on February 8, 2024, i.e. this Thursday with 17,800 candidates running for 266 national and 593 provincial seats. A total of 128.5 million voters will be exercising their right to vote in the elections.
However, the country of more than 241 million people, ahead of elections, witnessed several attacks in its northwestern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and southwestern Balochistan provinces in the weeks leading up to the polls.
In response on Thursday, the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) held a meeting to review the security situation, particularly in Balochistan, and its arrangements to ensure the safety of voters and candidates.
