It’s a right time to prepare a new captain for the team: Bismah Maroof

LAHORE: Bismah Maroof has released a message on social media, after resigning from the leadership of the national women’s team.
In a message on Twitter, Bismah Maroof wrote that there is no greater honour for her than leading the Pakistan team. The former captain wrote, “I think now is the time for a change and it is the right time to develop a new and young captain.”
There has been no bigger honour for me than leading the 🇵🇰 team. Now, I feel that it is the right time for a transition and chance to groom a young captain. I will always be there to assist, guide and support the team and the young captain in every way. Pakistan Zindabad!

Maroof further said, “I will always be there to help, guide and support the team and the new captain in every way, long live Pakistan.”
It should be noted that Pakistan Cricket Board Management Committee Chairman Najam Sethi has accepted the resignation of Pakistan Women’s Team Captain Bismah Maroof.
Najam Sethi issued a statement on social media and said that Bismah wants to give a leadership opportunity to a well-known young player, she will be available as a regular player for Pakistan.
