Israel has reopened the Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt to pedestrian movement for the first time in two years, Arab media reported.
Under the new arrangement, around 150 Palestinians will be allowed to leave Gaza each day, while up to 50 will be permitted to enter the territory, following stringent security checks.
According to the report, an Israeli security official confirmed that European monitoring teams have arrived at the Rafah crossing.

However, despite the reopening, foreign journalists are still not being allowed to enter Gaza.
The Rafah crossing had remained closed since May 2024, when Israeli forces took control of the area and suspended all movement through the border point.
